Andrius Burba Pictures Dogs from Underneath in Playful Photo Series

Under-Dogs

visual culture

Lithuanian photographer Andrius Burba pictures animals in unexpected ways – upside down and bottoms up, from underneath through a plane of glass. Previously, he pictured cats, rabbits, and even horses and, as he states, he is meanwhile shooting his "Underlooks" full time, selling prints and other products on his own website.

The pets almost seem to float in an open, weightless space. The photographer explains: "Dogs are obedient which helps us to create interesting shots. While some dogs were playful on the ground they have completely changed on the glass and stood still like a rock. Others weren’t afraid of standing above which was easy and fun to work with." After finishing this series almost a year ago, he is now planning his next Underlook shoot with a new subject: tigers.
